Every cardigan begins in the Peruvian Andes, knitted by hand, stitch by stitch.
Working within a community‑based social enterprise, our makers follow each design chart slowly and precisely, using the time‑honoured technique of hand‑knit intarsia.

No machines.
No mass production.
Just patience, skill and human hands.

Many learned their craft in childhood, taught by family and passed down through generations.
"Hand‑knit intarsia is a rare technique that can’t be rushed or automated, and we remain committed to the time and artistry it deserves"
Our knitters balance work, family and community. Fair pay, flexible hours and long‑term opportunity allow artisans to earn a dignified income close to home. Small‑group and home‑based work keeps the process thoughtful, low‑impact and rooted in care.

Each cardigan takes days to complete. Panels are knitted individually, then assembled, blocked and finished by hand, making every piece subtly unique.
Once the knitting is complete, each cardigan travels to London, where it is finished by hand.
Crafted by hand.
Guided by heritage.
Made with heart.

This partnership is the heart of Lessons London, where every piece carries a tradition preserved, a community supported, a craft honoured and a story continued.
